St John's Readathon 2019
Readathon at St John's First!
To kick start the last half term of the year, the children of St John's are all taking part in a sponsored read or 'Readathon!' to support the charity 'Read for Good'.
Read for Good’s vision is for all children in the UK to be given the opportunity, space and motivation to develop their own love of reading, benefiting them throughout their lives – for good.
The money raised buys books for schools and brings the power of stories to children in hospital via Read for Good's mobile bookcases and resident storytellers. This really shows how the children live our Christian Vision of 'Love one another, for love comes from God.' as their love of reading will help to inspire a love of learning in those who may be less fortunate than ourselves.
The children will each have a sponsor card where they can record what they are reading and this will take place from Monday 3rd June to Monday 17th June and sponsor cards should be brought back into school on Monday 17th June.
You can sponsor your child during the 'Readathon' and money raised will go to support this worthwhile cause. Please follow the link to make a donation: https://readforgood.org/sponsor-a-pupil-taking-part-in-readathon/
Many thanks for your ongoing support!
