Year 2 is a fantastic place to be and we have a bright and colourful classroom in the old part of the building next to the Learning Centre. We enjoy reading and finding out about the world throughout our many exciting topics during the year!
Mr Ronayne is our classroom teacher and Mrs Anderson supports us in our learning.
In the Autumn we ask "Why do we remember?" exploring ideas of creation, Remembrance Day, Bonfire Night and the Great Fire of London. During the Spring Term, we start by asking "What will you achieve?" and we will learn about the four countries and capital cities of the United Kingdom along with some inspirational significant individuals from the past. We will then explore the country of Mexico through a variety of exciting and enriching activities. In the Summer Term we investigate transport through our adrenaline fuelled topic 'Transport Through Time!'. We will also develop our map skills in the Summer term when we go on an Island Adventure. We will read a selection of Katie Morag stories and find out about the Isle of Coll. We will also have the opportunity to extend our learning and team skills even further throughout the year by taking part in sporting events, engaging with visitors to support our learning and going on educational visits!
