In Year 3 we are lucky to have a light, spacious classroom, with large Victorian style windows, a comfortable reading corner and a computer area. Mrs Weir is our teacher and Mrs Saltmarsh, Mrs Burnham-Slipper and Miss Slater support our learning. Mr Miller will be with us for the year as a school direct trainee.
Throughout the year we explore a variety of topics.
Our Autumn topic is 'Stone Age to Iron Age' and we visit The Priest's House Museum to experience an archaelogical dig.
In the Spring we investigate Ancient Egypt and enjoy learning about famous discoveries.
During the Summer term we enjoy learning about the Jurassic Coast through our 'Dorset Adventures' topic. It is fascinating to find out about our local area in the past and present and study fossils.
This year, we had the fabulous opportunity of visiting Dippy the Dinosaur at the Dorset County Museum in Dorchester to launch our Jurassic Coast topic. An incredible time was had by all and we all learned so much about Dippy's history and how fossils are formed.
We are also starting to learn French and enjoy singing songs to practise the new words.
